Law Enforcement Facilities |
| Since its completion in 1992, the Antioch Police Facility has served as a national model for community oriented police facility design. While maintaining state-of-the-art security, GMA’s design broke the longstanding mold of inward focused, bastion style police design with all its negative connotations and psychological impacts on police staff and public alike. In its place Antioch, and subsequently GMA’s Livermore, Santa Cruz and Lodi Police facilities, offers an open, courtyard oriented design which balances workflow efficiency within a “positive,” working environment featuring extensive natural light. Each of the GMA police designs, while organizationally unique, provides multipurpose community rooms which additionally serve other training and EOC functions. In addition to the firms’ new Police Facilities, GMA has provided seismic upgrade and additions to meet Essential Facility Standards to the San Pablo, Walnut Creek and Moraga Police Facilities. |
